Sliced with Cura 5.2.2 and 5.3.0, still only happens via USB not microSD Print pauses 2-5 seconds while temps remain 200/60ĭisconnecting C270 webcam made no difference OctoPrint terminal shows communication timeout, waiting on printerĬhanging microUSB cable made no difference Only happens via OctoPrint on Raspberry Pi 4B Randomly started without any changes to firmware, hardware, or software The same GCODE works from microSD (directly copied, or sent through OctoPrint) but not when printing from OctoPrint via microUSB cable.Įnder-3 Pro with Marlin 2.1.2 randomly pauses mid-print when using OctoPrint I was on Cura 5.2.2 and upgraded to 5.3.0, but it's made no difference. It only seems to happen when I print from the Raspberry Pi. In OctoPrint, I've added G0 and G1 as commands that might take long, but it's made no difference adding those commands to the OctoPrint configuration. I've put the GCODE files on the microSD card, and used "Upload to SD" in OctoPrinit, and those methods work to print flawlessly.

Unplugging the C270 webcam has not made a difference at all. I have changed the microUSB cable, and it's made no difference. The globs on the skin are where the nozzle remains parked for those few seconds. Configure long running commands or increase communication timeout if that happens regularly on specific commands or long moves. The terminal output in OctoPrint shows the following after pausing:Ĭommunication timeout while printing, trying to trigger response from printer. While no action is taking place, the hotend fan does sound to drop from 100% to full stop, but I did see 33% on the display once during a pause. The printer pauses for 2-5 seconds, hotend remains at 200C, the bed is at 60C, then continues on with the print. It's not in the same print area, and varies between none, once, or multiple times per layer. There hasn't been any change to the firmware, printer, Raspberry Pi, or OctoPrint, but there seems to be random pausing in all of my prints, regardless of size. Using OctoPrint all this time to do the print jobs, I also upgraded from Raspberry Pi 3B+ to 4B, and added my old Logitech C270 webcam to view prints, and create time lapse footage with Octolapse printer and camera use the USB2 ports. I recently upgraded Marlin 2.0.9.3 to 2.1.2 (my GitHub repo with changes), and things were going well.
